we bought our house in 1998 and it had bee windows installed a couple years prior.

no noticeable issues other than 1 window fogged up really bad inside.

then about 1 year ago one window let loose when my wife when to open it. both of the plastic brackets in the bottom of the frame that hold the sping cables both broke and the upper sash came slamming down at full force. luckily the glass didn't break and luckily no one was under the sash at the time. or we'd have our attorney talking the faebers.

thought about getting the warranty transferred but with a $350 transfer fee plus 2x service calls plus ??? why bother. Menards has decent window for what they would charge for "warranty"

i suspect they are not very well sealed or insulated either. I would not buy from them.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $750.

I didn't like: Poor quality.

Over 20 years old ? You can't possibly expect "as new" performance from anything that old, much less something continuously exposed to all weather and light conditions.

You are lucky to get that much usage from something you didn't even buy new.

It's completely foolhardy to start talking about lawyers ; you haven't got a chance in the world of collecting a nickel. You might need a lawyer if you negligently allow something you knew was defective to injure another party however so be careful.
